Have you ever witnessed one or more people being either cheesey nice or extremely unkind to individuals different from themselves? For example, us blind people have most probably experienced times when we feel like screaming because people are judging us. Being judgmental towards others is extremely hard to avoid, and I understand that. I just think that there is some way that we can create a more united community, so that all of us understand each other, and we don't treat each other differently just because of our appearance. After all, as it says in my profile's words of wisdom, there's a reason for anything. The fact that I am blind, for instance, is meant to be because it was meant to be, if you get my meaning. Agree? Disagree?

I've always been treated like everyone else. Always talked to and accepted. Going to regular school was the greatest thing I could have ever done. I've heard of others who were made fun of and that's a shame.

I was made fun of for a while but learned to give it like I take it and after that I was accepted with no problems. If oyu let people walk all over you no matter who you are, they will. Fact is, the world aas a hole is in trouble today, it's a shame how a lot of people are, but I don't see it changign any time soon.

hay, t's human nature. I don't talk much to sighted people around my age any more, I can't take it. I'm not accepted, anywhere, I'm just basically tyred of getting rejected and thrown aside by them lot, so I don't try.

I totally agree, I've always had the same problem. This has caused me not to trust anyone, making me a little judgmental myself. But, really, we cant change the world...People are always gonna be how they want to be. If they dont like the fact that we're blind, then too bad. Its their loss, as they won't even take the time to get to know someone who's no different then they are.

The thing that drives me crazy is when people talk to me like I'm 4 instead of me being 18. Apparently cuz I am blind, I'm stup9id, opr slow to. I think the world is really fucked up, adn needs a shitload of help. Sorry for the typos, I am a bit sick, and on some cold pills, and groggy haha

I think some people just get their disabilities mixed up. You're probably the first blind person they met, since I guess we can be easily ignored most of the time, and they've got zero info on how to act. The idea of just acting like themselves does not occur to them, because apparently we're supposed to have quite a hair-trigger temper, and if they offend us, some unspecified but horrible fate is to befall them. Just a guess, mind you. As to the state of the world, it's always been fucked up because humans have lived on it. There! That cynical enough? LOL! P.S. I actually like most people, unless they're assholes. LOL!

people are gonna be people, and always find things to criticize about others, no matter who we are. you just have to prove them wrong, and show them that your just like anyone else. dont be afraid to be yourself, cause thats whatll get you farthest in the long run.

I don't let people try to treat me different. I tell them I'm blind not stupid. Being blind doesn't mean anything just that I have no eye site and that's that.

I've experienced that many times. People who are partially sighted, but more sighted than for example I am, bring blind people down. In my school that happens often. They hurt them, bully them. In my old schoo, a guy who was partially sighted, ept on touching me and sitting on me and forcing me to pull down my trowsers and all that, and I was just too scared to say anything against it because he tyranized all of us. Or once, sighted people were throwing stones at me. I can not understand why for example partially sighted people do bad things to blind people. Is it because they don't get along with their own disability? Are they frustrated or something? And, I totally agree: They'Re the same as all of us, as well as the sighted people who are acting like all blind people are stupid or they're worth nothing or anything like that. I can totally understand when people are mad about that.

hmm. My view in that is, if they throw stones at you then they believe exactly the same think as sighted people. Or if they bully you, they are either insecure about themselves or want to be a show of. Then, I would speak for myself, and well eventually not be afraid and show these low vision kids that one being deaf or blind or whatever also has feelings and are not going to waste time being bullyed. I mean, even at stores I have to speak and well the less you speak the dumper you seem. So, speak for yourself and just demounstrate who really are you!
